DEFINITIONS and TRANSLATIONS


RAM: Random Access Memory (usually known by its acronym, RAM) is a type of computer data storage.

RAM: Memoria de acceso aleatorio (normalmente conocida por el acrónimo, RAM) es un tipo de almacenamiento de datos en el ordenador.


Hard Disk Drive: a Hard Disk Drive (HDD), commonly referred to as a hard drive, hard disk or fixed disk drive, is a non-volatile storage device which stores digitally encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces.

Unidad de disco duro: una unidad de disco duro, comúnmente conocida como disco duro, unidad de disco o unidad de disco fija, es un dispositivo de almacenamiento no volátil que almacena datos codificados digitalmente en la superficie de discos magnéticos de rotación rápida.

ROM: Read Only Memory (usually known by its acronym, ROM) is a class of a storage media used in computers and other electronic devices.

ROM: Memoria de solo lectura (normalmente conocida por el acrónimo, ROM) es una clase de almacenamiento multimedia usado en ordenadores y otros dispositivos electrónicos.USB: Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a serial bus standard to interface devices.

BIOS: BIOS, in computing, stands for Basic Input/Output System.

BIOS: BIOS, en informática, significa Sistema Básico de Entrada/Salida.


Computer: a computer is a machine which manipulates data according to a list of instructions.

Ordenador: un ordenador es una máquina que manipula datos a partir de una lista de instrucciones.

Data: in computer science, data is any information in a form suitable for use with a computer.

Datos: en informática, los datos son cualquier información en un formato adecuado para usarse con un ordenador.

Database: a computer database is a structured collection of records or data that is stored in a computer system so that a computer program or person using a query language can consult it to answer queries.

Base de datos: una base de datos informática es una estructura donde se graban datos que se almacenan en un sistema informático, con un programa de ordenador o una persona usando un lenguaje base puede consultar y obtener respuestas de la base.

Computer hardware: computer hardware is the physical part of a computer, including the digital circuitry, as distinguished from the computer software that executes within the hardware.

Maquinaria del ordenador: la maquinaria del ordenador es parte física de un ordenador, incluyendo los circuitos digitales, se distingue del programa de ordenador porque este se ejecuta en el hardware.

Computer software: computer software is a general term used to describe a collection of computer programs, procedures and documentation that perform some task on a computer system.

Programa de ordenador: el programa de ordenador es un termino usado generalmente para describir una colección de programas de ordenador, los procedimientos y documentación que pertenecen a las tareas de un sistema informático.
